    Description

    For sale is an Authentic antique hand forged blacksmith made late 1700s or early 1800s wrought iron slate roofing tool in wonderful antique condition. It is not a fireplace or hearth tool, but I listed it under this category since this item has similar blacksmithing beauty as all the other fireplace tool I have owned and sold in the past.
    This item is a slate roof removing tool. The tip of tool blade is thin and bird shaped to allow easy ripping of old slates off the roof. The handle part of this tool thickens significantly and turns from a square to a round handle. The early black smithing hammering sign is clearly visible. Similar tool exists on EBay, but none was made entirely of one piece of iron and all are dated much later.
    It measures approximately 35” long. There is No visible repairs and it is in original antique condition. It Shows natural aging, but with very minimal rusting and great antique patina, Please study the pictures carefully for detailed condition.
