Antique Black Iron Fireplace Fender With Lions. I don’t know the age of this but it seems pretty old. The fender is black - although in a couple of the pictures the fender looks bronze-ish. (I think maybe the honey color of the floor was reflecting on the fender.) It really is black except for the finials on the stands behind the lions that seem to be brass. There is some wear to the finish and some surface rust that I tried to picture. The fender is in great shape other than one of the two legs on the support behind the right lion that is missing (and honestly, I didn’t notice it for years).
The dimensions are:
Outside width: 54”
Inside width: 48”
Height of Lions: 15”
Depth: 15”
This is very solid and heavy and weighs almost 50 pounds.
