English antique inlaid wood and metal coal scuttle fireplace ash box
This magnificent 19th. cole scuttle box featuring beautiful inlaid art work with different color wood.
This coal box is made around 1840-1850's and i've been told it could be as early as 1805-10
do to it's Neo-Classical design in a handle and wood inlaid.
The wood could be walnut or pine with inlaid of a lighter fruit wood.
Large metal handle with aged patina
The box measurements are 13 inches high by 14 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches in length
Box weighs at least 20 pounds
Metal liner inside the box
The box is in excellent condition with beautiful patina. No cracks in the front or back or sides of the box and it's all in one piece
This scuttle box was purchased in London, England from a antique shop.
I've been using it to store magazines because  now  I live in a place where I don't have a fireplace.
