Antique French Louis XV Style Fireplace Surround/Mantel with Mirror Oak & Walnut

Description of item for sale:
This beautifully carved fireplace surround is from France and it dates to the late 1800's.  This is a very well made piece with elegant, deep carvings in the style of Louis XV.  The last photo in the set was taken before it was removed from its most recent installation where it was used with a (not very pretty) gas insert.  The surround itself is solid oak and the mirror frame solid walnut.  It is in very good antique condition, straight and solid.  As with any old woodwork there are various small chips, scratches and minor repairs.  There is no woodworm or dry rot whatsoever.  The mirror has its original silvering and it shows a few minor shadows and stains.
As we do with all of our furniture, we finished it with a coat of antique grade paste wax that will maintain its beauty for years to come.
Dimensions
: 60" wide, 104" tall and 22" deep (front to back).  The fireplace opening is 38" tall and 42" wide.  The height of the mantel without the mirror is 48".
