Antique Victorian Brass Fireplace Fender, 50 Inch long.
14” deep and 45” tall
Weighing approximately 17 lbs
This is a beautiful 19th Century Brass antique fireplace fender.
W Jackson & sons 246 Front Street New York is stamped in the cast iron on the underside
The name and address combinations only existed between 1860-1870
W Jackson & Sons were masters in fireplace grates and accessories.
Brass was imported from Germany
Still in great condition and will last a lifetime
The brass base has a flat top with tapered edges and a flat front and back. The base wraps around a structural iron support.
There are 6 brass round ball design on the front and sides including the corners. A rope twist design rail runs around the top through the round brass ball design.
This fireplace fender has very nice soft patina, but as it is all brass it could be polished to a brighter finish if that is the look you want.
On one side there is some black marks from burning.
Came out of an historic home in Maryland
