Description

Antique "Sunday Stick" Golf Putter 1919 This is called a "Sunday Stick" because in Scotland in the early 1900's it was believed you were not allowed to play golf on Sundays so they made a cane with a putter handle to get around the law.  There is a sterling silver collar that is hallmarked "J.S. & Sons" that stands for James Swann & Sons.  There are other hallmarks that represent the year and where the cane was made. The putter is brass and the shaft of the cane is made of ebony with a brass and steel ferrule.  The total cane measures 38" in total.
