folk art cane walking stick/? native american war club

Description

Is it a native american war club or a mean looking folk art walking stick/cane ?. I don't know. Never seen anything like it. You decide. Crude rawhide wrapped iron rod with stiff iron wire fangs fashioned in a rattlesnake appearance. Painted open red mouth with ?nail brad eyes. Heavy item that could do damage if used as a club. Has age to it and not something recently made. Don't know if this is a native american item or a very unusual folk art cane .See pictures for detail and condition.  From my collection of odd and interesting items. Thinning it down.
