This is one cool bird. The silver handle is formed into the craning head and neck of a long beaked bird. Every detail is done with great care, right down to the individual feathers and facial lines. The turquoise eyes really pop against the silver, and both stones are in perfect condition. The handle has a faint golden glow to it, and I don't know if that was by design or just happened naturally. Either way, it just adds a little richness to the bird. The collar is a rather rare blond bone, and in great condition. The shaft of this 34.75" cane is Malacca wood stained a nearly blond color. It's sturdy and saw little use, as most of its original finish is still excellent. The bone ferrule is also different, as it shows an almost wood grain like look. There is only minor wear on its bottom. This is one bird that must have rarely left its nest.
